Huawei Ascend W1 coming to O2 UK in March

O2 will be the first British mobile operator that will sell the Huawei Ascend W1, which is the Chinese company’s first (and still only) Windows Phone 8 device. The smartphone already got a page at the carrier’s website from where we learn it will be available in late March in “Electric Blue” and “Electric Pink.” Price was not mentioned, but specs have been recapped and we bring them here: the Ascend W1 sports a 4-inch WVGA IPS display, 1.2GHz dual-core processor, 3G and Wi-Fi connectivity, 5-megapixel rear camera, VGA front-facing one, 512MB of RAM, 4GB of built-in storage and a microSD memory card slot.

Meanwhile, we expect to see the second Huawei Windows Phone 8 handset announced at Mobile World Congress – Ascend W2. From what we’ve heard, it will be a more powerful yet much thinner device, and we’ll make sure to share our impressions with you as soon as we get to try it out. Stay tuned…
