Chinese cloners are getting better with the day, with their latest gig being the fake HTC One Max. The Taiwanese company still hasn’t announced its very first phablet but that apparently doesn’t stop some “savvy” handset makers from launching their own “versions” of the phone.
However, the newly caught Galapad Galaxy 6 doesn’t come with an aluminum unibody construction; rather some parts are made out of plastic, making for a that much cheaper look and feel.
Specs wise, this device rocks a 6.3-inch 720p HD screen and other mid-end specs (for a phablet) that include 1GB of RAM, 8-megapixel rear and 2-megapixel front cameras, MediaTek’s quad-core processor clocked at 1.2GHz, and a 3050mAh battery. In other words, this big fella offers a solid bang for the buck (about $250) but unfortunately we can’t recommend it due to its “fake nature.” And that fact alone doesn’t guarantee high-quality experience, quite the contrary.
As you can imagine, HTC can do little about this and other clones of its hardware, though we have hard time imagining that the same group of people who buys the HTC One and its variants will be fooled to get one of these…
