According to Reuters, Verizon and Vodafone are prepared to announce a $130 billion deal that’ll buy out Vodafone’s interest in Verizon Wireless and put control of the carrier in the hands of US-based Verizon Communications.
Vodafone, which owns 45 percent of Verizon Wireless, will get $58.9 billion in cash, $60.2 billion in Verizon stock, and an additional $11 billion in other transactions. Both Verizon’s and Vodafone’s board of directors unanimously approved the deal. The transaction is expected to close sometime early next year.
