Bump indicated via its blog that the service will shut down come January 31. Bump, which lets smartphone owners exchange data, such as contact info, by physically bumping their devices together, was acquired by Google in September. According to Bump's former CEO David Lieb, the Bump team is now working on other projects within Google. Similarly, Google plans to shut down Flock, a service that created a single photo album culled from several different devices. Users of both services will be able to export and save their data.
