Samsung Announces Galaxy Camera 2

Aww, the Android point-and-shoot is all grown up! Well, kind of. Samsung unveiled the Samsung Galaxy Camera this morning, an Android device with photo snapping at its core. The Galaxy Camera 2 is a follow-up to the original Galaxy Camera, and resembles it in size and shape.

The Galaxy Camera 2 comes packing a 16MP resolution camera with a 1/2.33 inch sensor size and a 21x Optical Zoom. The camera rocks a quad-core 1.6GHz processor, 2GB of RAM, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth and even NFC connectivity. The Galaxy Camera 2 will come running Android 4.3, with no word when or if Android 4.4 KitKat will be coming to the device.

What sets the Galaxy Camera 2 apart from its predecessor more than anything is its software. Sammy has beefed up the pre-loaded software with 28 pre-set modes to help you snap that perfect picture. Too many modes for you to choose from? Don’t worry, Samsung’s Smart Mode Suggest will analyze the situation and pick the right pre-set for you. There’s even a Smart Mode Selfie Alarm which snaps five selfies in succession, allowing you to pick the most flattering to share with your friends, family and online stalkers.
