Microsoft Releases Windows 10 Developer Toolkit

Microsoft today made a software developer kit available to developers interested in creating apps for the forthcoming Windows 10 platform. The SDK requires users to be a member of the Windows Insider Program and have the latest build of the Windows 10 Technical Preview, as well as a handful of other apps. By releasing the SDK, Microsoft is essentially asking developers to start coding Windows 10 applications for Windows PCs, tablets, and phones. Microsoft expects to release Windows 10 this summer and will want a healthy supply of apps available for the new platform when it arrives. The SDK arrives about a month before Microsoft plans to hold its annual Build developer conference. More details are expected to surface at that time.
