Nokia today announced the Lumia 625, a mid--range smartphone that boasts a 4.7-inch screen, the largest for a Windows Phone 8 device. The screen has 800 x 480 pixels and carriers forward Nokia's super sensitive touch feature, as well as sunlight readability and high-brightness mode. The 625 has a removable polycarbonate shell that is made from several different layers, and is curved gently so that it feels comfortable to hold. The Lumia 625 is powered by a dual-core 1.2GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon S4 processor with 512MB of RAM, 8GB of built-in storage, and it includes a 2000mAh battery. The 625 offers 802.11a/b/g/n Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 4.0 Low Energy, GPS/GLONASS, and limited support for LTE networks. The Lumia 625 will go on sale across Europe in September for about $290. U.S. carriers have not announced plans to offer the Lumia 625.
