Meizu is preparing to rollout not one version of its MX3 flagship but a whole series. The device will be available with different amounts of internal storage, ranging from 16 to 128 GB, with the cheapest model apparently lacking NFC capability while selling for just 1,999 Yuan. That’s an equivalent of $308, making the MX3 one of the best phones in that price bracket. On the other hand of the spectrum, the top model with 128GB of built-in storage will sell for 2,000 Yuan more for a total of 3,999 Yuan (about $650).
Recently we’ve talked about Meizu’s plans to close its stores and cut production costs by outsourcing manufacturing to Foxconn. This in turn would make its products more affordable, and allow it to compete with Xiaomi, China’s rising star which has recently managed to snap an important executive from Google’s Android team.
Now we’re just hoping Meizu will be able to bring its super-phone to the West, providing us with yet another option to choose from.
