LG announced second generation of its mobile printer Pocket Photo, Pocket-lint is reporting. The petite device builds on its predecessor, boasting a slightly thinner body and improved battery life that allows users to print up to 30 photos on a single charge.
The Pocket Photo 2 will debut in South Korea in January, with global launch to follow soon afterwards. The device will be on display at CES in Las Vegas, where folks be able to check it out in its few different colors like pink, jewel white and lime.
LG’s baby prints photos at 600 DPI, supporting a number of platforms like Android, iOS and Windows 8. Pairing is conducted using NFC and Bluetooth, and there’s also a simple Pocket Photo app included for Android users.
The LG Pocket Photo 2 doesn’t use ink cartridges or toner, instead relying on the Zink printing technology that utilizes heat to activate the necessary color-forming chemistry embedded in each sheet of paper. This in turn should preserve images for longer while producing less smearing…
