Sony is apparently working on two different high-end devices, both of which will be launched in the first half of 2014. These two don’t include the already announced and available in some markets, Xperia Z1 Mini aka Z1s, and are rather something “completely new.”
According to Digi-Wo, the Japanese company will first release a flagship device codenamed Sirius, and then in May – another smartphone currently going by the codename of Canopus.
The first of the two will likely be unveiled from the floor of CES in Las Vegas, packing a 5.2-inch screen and Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 SoC. On the other hand, the Canopus will allegedly rock a 5-inch display, and a Snapdragon 800 or 805 chip (we’re cheering for the latter).
We have nothing but that. However, it’s worth mentioning that Sirius is the brightest star in the night sky, and is twice as bright as Canopus. This may translate into the two phones’ specs… or not. It’s too early to tell but we do hope to get some answer from Vegas. Stay tuned…
