Good news for owners of Sprint ‘s HTC Evo 4G LTE smartphone. The Taiwanese company is still thinking about you and will get your the Android 4.3 update in mid-February.
The information — in case you wonder — came from Jason Mackenzie, the President of HTC America, who shared this little nugget via Twitter.
HTC will “ship” the new firmware to Sprint in mid-January which will take another month to test it out, before opening up the floodgates. Presuming no serious glitch was found, the rollout will begin in mid-February.
While that’s all nice, most users are asking about KitKat these days. And we’re not sure whether that particular candy will ever find its way to the Evo 4G LTE. Just because it’s more optimized than Jelly Bean — so that it can work on lower-end devices — it doesn’t mean all phones will get it, quite the contrary. We’ll be on the lookout for all update news and get back to you as soon as we have something new to add. Stay tuned…
