Popular processor benchmark app Geekbench has been recently updated and someone at BlackBerry decided to try it out with a still unannounced “Ontario” smartphone.
That device has been mentioned/rumored in the past and as far as we (don’t) know, it could be launched later this year. Perhaps even during the forthcoming Mobile World Congress at the end of this month.
Anyhow, the Geekbench test result has been caught in the wild, revealing parts of Ontario’s guts. The image you can see above suggests this phone will pack Qualcomm’s powerful Snapdragon 800 quad-core chip and 2GB of RAM. Moreover, the unit is running an early version of BlackBerry OS 10.3, which we guess supports these kinds of [quad-core] chips while also boasting some other enhancements.
We do look forward to see some cool BlackBerry device released this year and are hoping the Canadian company will use the big event in Barcelona as a stage for the official launch. If you (BlackBerry) guys/gals need a beta tester, you know how to reach me.
