Droid Zap's Droid exclusivity on picture taking is dropped

Droid Zap is a photo sharing app that is available from the Google Play Store. Anyone with an Android phone could find others with the app within 1000 miles and see what pictures they were sharing. But unless you had a Motorola DROID branded phone, you could not share any pictures yourself. While just looking at others' photos might be appealing to some, others might want to be on the sharing end of the equation.

So that is why we are happy to tell you that Motorola has removed the exclusivity so that pictures taken by non-DROID Android phones can be posted on the Droid Zap site. Motorola did add the Zap Zone and this is available only to Motorola DROID phones running on the Jellybean build of Android or higher. With Zap Zone, you can have multiple users at a party share their photos automatically. All you need to do is Zap the invitation to the party to your friends, and for the length of the event, pictures taken by you or your pals are shared without anyone lifting a finger.

The Droid Zap app is a free download from the Google Play Store.
