
Thanks to a number of delays, there is now a big pent-up demand for the
Nokia Lumia Icon, a Windows Phone exclusive for Verizon. With the same high-end specs that you'd find on the
Samsung Galaxy S4, and a 5 inch screen to boot, Nokia has a phone that can challenge the current crop of high end Android handsets. Back in December, we told you that Verizon's desire to deal with just Microsoft in discussing marketing of the device,
had delayed the launch until February. Microsoft, as you know, is
acquiring the Devices and Services arm of Nokia and Big Red did not want to run into a confusing maze in deciding which firm it should talk to when it needs to discuss things like marketing of the phone.
Now, a leaked inventory listing for Verizon shows the white and black versions of the Nokia Lumia Icon arriving on February 19th, with accessories coming the next day. A published report on Saturday says that pre-orders for the phone will begin at Microsoft Stores this Wednesday, February 12th. Reserving a unit will require a $50 deposit.
