Samsung is preparing to launch a successor to the original Galaxy Core, which is also available in Galaxy Core Plus and Galaxy Core Advance variants. The upcoming Galaxy Core 2 has been leaked and it’s an everything but impressive device with relatively low-end specs. While it rocks a quad-core chip (clocked at 1.2GHz), it also has only 512MB of RAM which in this day and age is rather insufficient. In addition, this unit will also pack a 4.5-inch WVGA (that’s 480 x 800 pixels) screen, 5-megapixel camera on the back, VGA front-facing camera, HSPA+ connectivity, 2,000 mAh battery and 4GB of expandable storage. An extra SIM card slot is there as well, allowing folks to connect to two different networks at once. Size wise, the Galaxy Core 2 measures 129.7 x 67.9 x 9.8 mm and has a weight of 138 grams.
This latest Samsung phone is expected to hit the shelves in Russia on May 20 with a price of 9,990 Rubles, which translates into some $277. Kinda steep when you consider the hardware you get in return…
