Samsung Galaxy Note II Android 4.4 KitKat update has started rolling out

Samsung has started rolling out Android 4.4 KitKat update for the Galaxy Note II, with users in France first to get it. According to SamMobile, the new firmware brings a number of enhancements included in the latest version of Google’s platform, as well as many Samsung-made improvements and tweaks.

Included in the deal are full-screen album art, camera shortcut on the lock screen, wireless printing support, NFC tap-to-pay, options to set default messaging and launcher apps and better stability. There’s also Samsung KNOX support to enable more secure communication and Samsung Wallet.

Chances are that after France, the Korean company will expand the availability of this firmware to other countries all around the world. We would assume that European countries will come next, followed by the rest of the planet. Meanwhile, nothing stops you from manually checking whether the update has arrived – hop over to “Settings” -> “About phone” and take it from there.
