Snapchat today updated its application with two major features: disappearing messages, and video chats. The app supports presence - or, "Here" in Snapchat parlance - which means users can have text or video chats with friends when they are signed into and using the app. Simply swipe right on a contact's name in the Snapchat inbox to start chatting. When users leave the chat screen, messages viewed by both participants will be cleared. Live video can be shared between two users by pressing and holding the app's shutter button. The new features are available to both the Android and iOS versions of Snapchat, which can be downloaded from the Google Play Store and iTunes App Store, respectively.
