Apple to use new reservation pass system to shorten the lines outside Apple Stores

In order to keep a more accurate count of iPhones available at specific stores on launch day, Apple is turning to a more advanced technological system. In the past, Apple Stores relied on paper cards that were handed out to those on line. Once the cards were completely gone, so were the phones at each store. Now, Apple Store employees are being trained to use a new "Reservation Pass" system. Those waiting in line for an iPhone will receive a message via SMS or email. The message will contain a time that the person is to return to the Apple Store to complete his purchase of the iPhone.
