Apple Stores now accept non-iPhone handsets as a trade toward the purchase of certain iPhone models

Earlier this month, we told you that Apple was working on a way to allow consumers to trade in phones made by rival manufacturers, and use the proceeds of such a trade toward the purchase of a new iPhone. This morning, we can tell you that Apple has completed the training of its personnel, and is launching the program today.



Certain Android, Windows Phone or BlackBerry handsets can be used as a trade-in toward the purchase of an Apple iPhone 5c, Apple iPhone 6 or Apple iPhone 6 Plus. The Apple Watch cannot be purchased with this plan. The devices being accepted by Apple include models like ...
